Upcoming Adventures (and Adventures Yet To Post)

July 19, 2007

We realized the other day that we’ve been remiss in posting on our Laos trip, Croatia/Slovenia/England trip, or our recent Vancouver, BC trip. We are still living in somewhat temporary space and have been busy preparing for a few upcoming adventures including:

  • A trip to Providence to celebrate Jeff and Christie’s birthdays and for a memorial service for Damon’s grandma, Little Deep, who passed away in April
  • Our move to Salt Lake City, Utah! We’re planning on moving the last week of July/1st week of August!
  • A trip to Indiana to celebrate our friends Meg and Vinny’s wedding
  • Damon’s family’s annual trip to Maine in August (right before Damon rejoins the working world)

Happy (Belated) 4th of July!

I didn’t manage to bring our camera to the fireworks last night but I did have my camera phone. We spent the holiday hanging out in our neighborhood (coffee at Fremont Coffee House , dinner at Kaosamai Thai Restaurant, and fireworks at Gasworks Park). Gasworks is a former manufactured gas plant that has been remediated and turned into a public park. Some original buildings of the original MGP have been left in place:

The fireworks were some of the best we’ve ever seen- well choreographed with the music, lots of fireworks lasting for about half an hour to forty-five minutes. The photos don’t really do it justice.

Baseball

July 1, 2007

Nothing says summer quite like a baseball game.  We’ve been spoiled the last few years having Safeco Field right downtown.  Damon went to the whole Red Sox series last week- unfortunately for Damon and the rest of the Red Sox Nation they weren’t able to get a win.  Somehow it seems weird that our tickets (center field bleachers, $7) were cheaper than a beer ($7.50 for a large Bud Lite).  I didn’t manage to bring our camera, but I have figured out how to use my new camera phone!
