Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2007

Despite having our camera in Seattle last weekend we don’t have any photos from the Halloween fun on Saturday night.  Instead, I have this photo for you.

Hannah the Apple

I’ve been known to knit at times and I made our friend Andy’s daughter, Hannah, a hat- despite the fact that they live in Dallas (never know where kids can get to these days).  Hannah’s mom Lindsay got inspired and together with her mom made Hannah a costume- incorporating the hat!

The professional engineer licensing exam was last Friday.  Needless to say, I’m glad that it’s over.  It’ll be a few months before I find out if I pass or not (yes it was a multiple choice scantron exam- and somehow they told us it would take 12 weeks to get our pass/fail score).  Damon came up to Seattle on Friday and we spent the weekend catching up with friends and family.  We made it back to Salt Lake tonight- it’s nice to be home after 2 weeks away!

First Visitors in SLC!

October 19, 2007

I really should be studying- the exam is in a week. But, I finally got some photos off the camera… We had our first visitors to Salt Lake City at the end of September:

Maia, Connor, Sarah, and flowers

We went to Temple Square and checked out the Temple (from the outside) and the Tabernacle (from the inside):

After a nap we met up with Summer, Eli, and Abigail at the Planetarium. We just checked out the free exhibits they had. Eli lounged on Mars and Damon and Abigail did the weather report.

Sunday we drove up to Park City, checked out some cool fall colors, and strolled along Main Street.

Wat Sisaket, Vientiane

October 11, 2007

This is from our favorite wat in Vientiane- Wat Sisaket.   Each of the little niches holds 2 Buddhas- there are literally thousands of Buddhas in the walkway surrounding the sim.

Sunset from Sugarloaf

October 2, 2007

Fall seems to have arrived here in Utah- no more 90 F days. This week looks to be gorgeous fall weather- 60’s and 70’s with sunshine! Our camera lives- but the lack of time to deal with photos continues (the exam is in less than 1 month). This is the new desktop background on my computer-sunset from the top of Sugarloaf.
