Thanksgiving Hangover

November 28, 2007

My (Sarah’s) family just left this evening after an action packed 10 days. I need to catch up on some work, but I wanted to get this video up of my nephew Gavin on his 2nd day on the slopes. We got our first winter storm yesterday with a couple inches of accumulation down in the valley and up to 8″ in the mountains. So, we headed up to Brighton and hit the slopes!

Thankful for Family

November 23, 2007

One of the joys with having a large family is that there is always family around. One of the troubles is that (with the exception of our wedding) they are not often all together. So, while we spent Thanksgiving with my (Sarah’s) family, we weren’t with Damon’s family for Thanksgiving. As soon as I get photos off the cameras I’ll get some on-line.

In the mean time, here are some photos from our August trip to Maine with Damon’s family this past year!

Utah Sights

November 6, 2007

Damon’s mom came to visit this weekend so we had a fun weekend of exploring the area, eating tasty food, drinking tasty drinks, and going for long walks. I managed to bring my camera around and not take any pictures, and then forget my camera when we were in scenic locales. So, from the camera phone:

Office Max Landscape

This first photo is actually from the strip mall behind my office which shows where I go to get office supplies (Office Max) and just how close the mountains are (really close).

U of U

Friday afternoon Damon had a meeting to go to so Christie and I took a long walk around campus. We were hoping to see the Great Salt Lake, but alas, we couldn’t find a good vantage point for where we thought it would be. We did find the University of Utah U up on the hillside though.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Sunday morning we went to go and see the live broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  The acoustics in the Tabernacle are pretty amazing and the music was phenomenal.  We were lucky because Sunday’s performance included the orchestra (which apparently, it doesn’t always).
