The last weekend of January we headed to California for what ended up being a 3-day extended family reunion of sorts. My uncle who is a priest was being installed as pastor of a church and many of my relatives took the opportunity to go to California. We got the boys dressed up in Barong Tagalogs for the mass and spent 3 fun family filled days eating and catching up with family.
So I’ve decided to delve into the world of knitting socks (inspired mostly by the Yarn Harlot who raves about knitting socks- be warned non-knitters, the blog is unlikely to appeal to you). The socks ended up being a tad small- but fortunately my sister has small feet and they fit her.

Our good friend Jon is on the cover of Seattle’s Stranger. Yes, he was the guy with the shiner in our wedding.
Happy Year of the Rat! Maia, my parents, Gavin, and Connor have come to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A cold prevented Maia and Gavin from hitting the slopes today (and work prevented me from doing anything fun), but Maia and Gavin did get to enjoy some snow today.
Tomorrow we’re hoping to hit the slopes! Too bad Damon will still have to work.
