Hilarious
October 21, 2008Last night we went to go and see David Sedaris at Abravanel Hall. He was, as expected, hilarious. One of the pieces he read was this this piece about undecided voters that is in the New Yorker.
Summer SLC Visitors
October 11, 2008In addition to our various trips this summer, we had several visitors come through Salt Lake. Our friend Jon came to spend 4th of July with us, our friends Madeline and Baron came with their son Lucas, and our friends Sasha and Vitaliy came with their daughter Alina.
One of the best things about having guests is that you get to explore where you live- we watched fireworks in Sugar House Park, took the tram up Snowbird, checked out the Tracy Aviary, went to Red Butte Gardens, did the Cecret Lake hike in Alta, checked out various parts of Temple Square, and tried some new restaurants. Fortunately, Madeline has written up her thoughts on many of the restaurants we checked out.

Maine, August 2008
October 9, 2008Time has gotten away from me somehow. Before winter shows up (they’re calling for snow this weekend down here in the valley), I thought I would post some pics from the end of our summer.
Our last trip before Damon started teaching was the family trip to Maine. Unfortunately, not everyone could make it this year. We managed to have a good time digging for clams, playing Mafia, jumping in the waves, playing Texas Hold’em, doing a puzzle and riding the river.
An added bonus was that my old housemate, Debika, and her boyfriend Justin were in Maine for a wedding. We met up for a couple of hours to catch up in Bath before they flew back to NY.
We finished off the great weekend at Barnacle Billy’s Etc. in Ogunquit with some tasty steamers and lobster rolls.
