Connor modeling his new 'patos
I have always wanted to knit a sweater but didn’t quite have the courage to start one on my own. Over the years friends have given me various patterns for baby sweaters since they knit up faster. Last fall I was sitting on the plane next to a woman who was knitting on my way home from Seattle. We started chatting and she said she thought I could knit a sweater and that if I needed help she’d be willing to help me out. Â With Teri’s help I made this for Connor for Christmas:

Gavin requested some new slippers so I knitted up some felted clogs for him- and once I made one pair I had to make a second pair for Connor.

Unfortunately for Connor I made his clogs his actual size and so they’re a little snug. I need to finish up a second pair for his birthday… which was last month.

Those clogs are seriously cute! And I love the sweater. (I swear I will finish mine…but he’s going to be one big little boy so I don’t know if it will fit.)

Hey Sarah, those look great. I especially love the clogs. How emailable is the pattern for the clogs? Eilidh’s feet are too small to get slippers in the UK (even although she can walk and can get shoes (just, although the choice is VERY limited) and so I wondered about dropping some subtle hints to my knitting able in-laws!

Hi — I have just finished my first felted clog and I am having problems with sewing the soles together. I have sewn the inner sole to the outer sole and now when I sew the two soles together I have this big lump of wool at the bottom of my clog. I guess I just don’t understand how to sew the two soles together. Your clogs look amazing — is it possible to get help with this? Do you have pictures of the bottom of the clogs — I don’t know what I’m not getting — but I’m not getting how to do something. Your clogs are beautiful.
Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. You need to sew the inner sole together first, then the outer sole together, then sew them together at the end with a mattress stitch (I think that’s what it’s called- I don’t have my knitting book with me).

Hello,
I’m having the same exact problem with my clogs. I just can’t seem to visualize what I’m supposed to be sewing together. I end up with a big long bump down the middle of the bottom of the sole instead of a bumper along the outside edge. Please help me:( Thank you! ~ Laura
